Reducing water temperatures is important in rejuvenating salmon populations both adult and juvenile. Proper water temperatures allow adults to spawn properly and also allow juveniles to survive. The US Fish and Wildlife Service, along with partners Water Forum and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency have successfully cooled the river around 2 degrees. This is an ongoing project. © USFWS
