Butte Creek Restoration V

Restoration Stories

DrumhellerSloughbarrier

In 2002, an exclusion barrier was removed and upgraded from Drumheller Slough along Butte Creek to aid in adult salmonid migration. Since the barrier was rebuilt, stranding and diversion of adult salmon behind the barrier has been greatly reduced. Partners include US Fish and Wildlife, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Butte Slough Irrigation District, California Department of Water Resources, Ducks Unlimited, and the California Waterfowl Association. © USFWS
