In 2015, four ponds are being built that will store a combined 52.6 acre-feet of water, enough to farm what is currently in production at 80 acres of organic farms of Warren Weber of Star Route, Dennis and Sandy Dierks of Paradise Valley, and Peter Martinelli of Fresh Run Farms. Success going forward equates to successfully filling the ponds each rainy season and keeping summertime flows in streams that support fish. The Pine Gulch Project has been a 17-year odyssey for these farmers and the Marin Resource Conservation District, the County of Marin, Point Reyes National Seashore, and many other agencies.
