Since 2012, the Shasta Water Transaction Program has worked with willing landowners to secure water instream to support salmon in the Shasta River. In September 2014, over 63 cfs of water was left instream to support the migration of Fall Chinook swimming upriver to spawn. In 2017, no transactions were needed due to sufficient fall flows. © Erika Nortemann
